My Journey to AI-Assisted Banner Creation
Creating a banner might seem simple at first glance – image, text, logo, and you’re done. In practice, there’s more to it. The banner is the first thing people see when they come to a workshop or presentation. It should catch attention, look professional, and at the same time convey my dev.guru brand.
The Foundation: Corporate Identity
The most important step came before the actual design: establishing a clear corporate identity. I defined colors, fonts, and a general visual style. This seems inconspicuous but is crucial because it creates a common thread through all materials – website, banners, presentations. Everything feels like it comes from a single source.
MidJourney: Images from the Future
For the visual world, I used MidJourney. The tool is like a creative partner for me when it comes to generating futuristic scenes. With the right prompts, visual worlds emerge that perfectly match my topics: robots, holograms, digital interfaces.
I tried several variants and then selected an image that captured the mood I wanted to convey.
ChatGPT: Ideas & Feedback
For text and structure, I collaborated with ChatGPT. It was helpful to play through different versions – from slogans to short, concise statements. I could also get feedback on my drafts. For me, it was like having a “sparring partner” who gives quick feedback and forces me to formulate more clearly.
Pixelmator Pro: Fine-tuning & Technology
I then assembled the actual banner in Pixelmator Pro. There I could place texts, cleanly integrate my logo, and bring everything into the right proportions. I found the ML-based upscaling feature particularly useful, which allowed me to upscale the MidJourney image without the quality suffering for print.
My Conclusion
In the end, I had a banner that is visually striking, technically clean, and conveys my brand. For me, it was exciting to see how well different tools can work together:
- MidJourney for the creative visual world
- ChatGPT for ideas and feedback
- Pixelmator Pro for layout and fine-tuning
The combination of AI and traditional tools made the process not only easier but also more creative. And the best part: I have a banner that I really enjoy using – because it feels like a piece of my brand.
